“Almost a third of men deliberately do household chores badly so that their partners will not ask them to do them in future, a new survey has revealed.
The study of 2,000 people, conducted on behalf of bathroom retailer Victoria Plumb, found that 30pc of men did a bad job of domestic duties on purpose so that their frustrated wives and girlfriends would do the jobs themselves next time.
The chores that men admitted to doing badly included cleaning the toilet, loading the dishwasher and vacuuming.
A spokesperson for Victoria Plumb said that “Most guys will admit they don’t always pull their weight when it comes to the cleaning, but it’s worrying to see so many purposely do a bad job.
“Hardly anyone enjoys cleaning, especially the most hated chores like cleaning the bathroom, and it’s likely to your partner wants to avoid having to do it as much as you do.”
The survey also found that women are much more thorough than men when it comes to household cleaning. Women say they spend nine minutes cleaning their bathroom, while men feel they can get the job done in six.” To read the entire article click here.
